As the Headteacher of St Patrick’s Catholic Primary and Nursery School it is a real pleasure and privilege to welcome you to our school website.
St Patrick’s is a happy, welcoming and caring community, which aims to fulfill the educational, social and spiritual needs of all our children. Successful partnerships with parents, teachers, governors, non-teaching staff, clergy, parishioners and learning support services help us to ensure that the children in our care feel valued and secure, and make the best possible start to their school life.
Our community is shaped by our Catholic faith and values and it is within this context that the growth and development of our children takes place. Our school has a strong Catholic ethos and we are all learning to live, love and work together.
Our partnership with the parents, parish and our Parish Priest is very strong indeed and together, we aim to help the spiritual and moral growth of all our children as well as their intellectual growth. Parents have a very important role to play in the education of their children and we actively encourage close co-operation between home and school. We value and build on the experience and knowledge which pupils bring from their home lives.
Here at St Patrick’s, a love of learning is promoted within a safe and happy environment in which everyone feels valued, ideas can flourish and pupils can realise their full potential. Christian values and spirituality are at the heart of all aspects of school life. Every child is welcomed and valued as a unique member of God's family and all staff are dedicated to providing a stimulating, nurturing and exciting environment.
We provide a curriculum which is exciting, balanced and varied, giving all children the opportunity to learn from a wide range of experiences, including visits out of school and visitors and specialists who come into school. This VLE will give you many additional activities, linked to the work in class, and we hope you will take the opportunity to enjoy them together with your family. HAVE FUN!
If you are a visitor to our site and are not already familiar with our school, our mission statement says,
“Christ be within me as I learn, grow and shine”
We are blessed to have the Friends of St Patrick’s, our Parents' Association which not only raises funds for the school, but also provides fantastic social events for parents and children throughout the school year.
If you would like to find out more about the school, follow the link to our prospectus. You are, also, most welcome to contact us and arrange to come into school to meet us and have a look round.
I look forward to welcoming you to our school.
