We kick started the day with an assembly led by Miss Hopkins (complete with fancy dress costume) and read the story of 365 Penguins by Jean-Luc Fromenthal and Joelle Jolivet. Have a look at the penguin activities and investigations that followed!
Year 4 and 5 worked out the cost of feeding a penguin over a year!
Year 1 sequenced days of the weeks and ordinal numbers. They also investigated the best way to group the penguins.
Year 3 investigated what fraction of the penguins would fit in a bath!
In the afternoon Year 1 made penguin hats and decorated penguin biscuits!
Year 6 used compasses and protractors to accurately make a mini penguin!
Year 5 learnt how to draw cartoon penguins!
Year 4 researched the habitat of a penguin and why the penguins needed saving and Year 2 solved some really tricky penguin problems and then wrote their own!
As you can see we all had fun!!
