The link Governor for Pupil Premium (PP) and SEND meet termly with Mrs Rachel Heath, the lead teacher with responsibility for PP and SEND in school. At this meeting we look at the data and the progress of PP pupils to date, the funding, and measure the effectiveness that the different interventions are having on pupil progress. Regular reports are published to present these findings to the Governing Board. Both Governors have attended training on Pupil Premium.
Early identification of barriers to learning and strategic intervention is key to the schools ethos to provide both quality first teaching and to implement strategies for individual pupils and their needs. Funding is spent in a variety of ways to provide targeted support to best impact on pupils’ progress, which is reviewed on a weekly basis.
The school works closely with other local schools in the cluster group, meeting regularly to share good practice and to assess any new interventions that are successful in raising standards for this group of vulnerable children.
